Once the decision to attend the show has been made, the next step is to decide on the space required and the location within the hall. There are two basic options. Shell scheme or space only.
Shell schemes Shell Schemes are predefined areas where the organisers provide a basic package of walling, lighting, carpet and possibly an electrical socket. Generally they are for the smaller exhibitors and their size is measured in metres in Europe and feet in the USA. (In America a shell scheme is called a booth where they use pole and drape.)
Shell schemes are easily identified on the hall plan. They normally occupy the perimeter of the halls, side by side, and can be 2m x 2m, 2m x 3m, 3m x 3m or combinations. They all have the same height of about 2.4m. Some come with a fascia panel with the stand number and company name included in the package. Others have casement ceilings, steel lattice work or no ceiling at all. The walls are made from individual panels and can are generally covered in a Velcro friendly material for applying graphics. Because they are side by side some shell schemes have three walls (a back and two side walls) and some have two walls (a back and one side). All this detail will be available from the exhibition organiser but more assistance choosing the best location can be obtained by emailing sales@accessdisplays.co.uk Dressing the shell scheme. Many exhibitors will simply arrive and apply graphics to shell scheme with little or no other display equipment. Others may line the shell scheme with a simple pop up display which is easy to erect and very cost effective. For further details on prices for simple pop up displays see click here Example – the stand shown below may be purchased for as little as £1000.
Other companies might line their shell scheme with a modular panel and pole display system that can be purchased or hired. Follow the link for these options. /custom-modular.htm /exhibition-stand-hire.htm
Example - in the image above the exhibitor has booked two 3m x 3m stands. The fascia clearly shows the stand number and the exhibitors name and is supported by two uprights. Bear this in mind when designing the stand. It may be possible to remove the fascia and uprights but only after consultation with the organisers. Some exhibitors prefer to use a custom made stand that is generally installed by an exhibition specialist like Access Displays. Custom made stands are generally designed and constructed to be reconfigured to fit different spaces, sizes, shapes and heights, allowing the customer to amortise costs across different shows. Example – custom made stand, within a shell scheme shown below.
