| Client: Libyan Tourism Office. Exhibition: World Travel Market 2007 Venue: ExCel Centre, London, UK. Stand Size: 12m x 16m Budget: £35k With only 5 weeks notice, Access Displays Limited was asked to design and build an exhibition stand for the leading tourism show, World Travel Market 2007, taking place at the ExCel Centre in London. From initial discussions with the client, a comprehensive brief was developed. The stand would be open on four sides, measuring 12m x 16m. It would be dynamic, practical and reflect the ancient history and diversity of the Libyan culture. Although imposing, the stand would need to be welcoming to visitors, have excellent traffic flow and be visually impressive, whilst clearly representing Libya in all aspects. From the brief, coloured 3D visuals were produced and a detailed specification developed. Access Displays Limited’s Managing Director, Neil Brown adds, “We are finding that an increasing number of clients are looking for environmentally friendly exhibition solutions, or at least are open to the overall concept, which is now included as part of our normal initial design pitch.” Agreeing this approach, the design and construction details were approved by the client and full working drawings produced. The stand was manufactured using stock components and supporting tubes (made from compressed multi – layered cardboard coils), and was 90% recyclable. All graphics were printed on a biodegradable twill material, using non-toxic inks. Finally the entire stand was set painted with water-based paint. Mr Anwar Mexwaghi, General Manager of Waha Expo Company representing The Libyan Tourism Office comments, “We certainly stood out at the show and the volume of visitors exceeded all expectations. The stand was completed within budget and the build and project management were excellent. I was very pleased with the overall outcome of the show.”
